Endorsements
There is no substitute for personal
experience and we are proud of the wonderful relationship we
build with our guests. The fact that so many return, year
after year, is the highest compliment that guests can pay
us.
The following comments are just a few of
the totally unsolicited reports that guests have made on
review sites on the Internet, or in letters and emails to
us. We have provided a literal translation where the
endorsement was sent in another language:
Just a note to say what an excellent stay we
had at the Sherwood Park Apartments recently as part of a
three week stay in Tobago. We had chosen Sherwood Park for
our first week and simply couldn't fault the place. The
apartments aren't new but are really well maintained, kept
spotlessly clean and staffed by as nice a group of people
that I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. Indeed, when the
accommodation for our third week turned out to be truly
average, we were delighted to find that Sherwood Park had
some empty rooms and we moved back to finish our holiday
back with them. Thank you all for an excellent holiday.
It feels like already decades ago that we
left Tobago. We left on the 26th of April after spending a
couple of wonderful weeks at Sherwood Park. Since this was
our third visit to Tobago and the second at Sherwood, we
knew what we could expect. But as time goes by between our
visit in 2004 and the last one, your memories get a bit
cloudy. Our memory is refreshed now: the colours, the
smells, the warmth, the tastes and the kindness of the
people. Its all stored again. Right in front.
We really enjoyed our stay. Like the first
time we visited Sherwood Park we were, again, overwhelmed
with the care of the Sherwood staff. We travelled with our
six months old son Sam, who was right away adopted by the
staff. They gave us opportunity to go out just the two of
us, by baby sitting for a couple of hours. The nursed him,
cuddled him and got paid back with lots of big smiles of our
little fellow.
We stayed in one of the suites on the first
floor. It was spacious and suited fine to share with a baby.
Who needs air conditioning while there s a constant
refreshing wind blowing? We didnt. The fans in the room did
the work. Sleeping with open doors, waking up with a view at
the sunrise . What else can you ask for?
Before we arrived Nigel already arranged all
the stuff we needed to accommodate Sam. Just as planned. It
couldnt be better.
Andy provided a car, like last year, with a
baby seat. Ready to move around the minute we arrived.
Marvin kept up the good work like always. Taking care of the
small needs like medicine, the barbecue, taxis and all.
This time we spent a lot of time around the
swimming pool while Sam was taking a nap. After sleeping,
Sam loved to float around the pool in his floating device
before we took off to other places. So by being there a lot,
we found out that life in the garden and around the Sherwood
pool isnt punishment. In fact, its wonderful, enjoying the
birds, butterflies and the smell of nature.
In all, we loved it last year. We even loved
it more this year. So, all you nice people at Sherwood Park.
See you again next year. Because well be back to enjoy
Sherwood and the rest of Tobago once more.
Love you all,
My wife and I visited Sherwood Park for 2
weeks from 20th Nov. We were met at the airport by Nigel in
a torrential downpour and a power cut. However this did not
dampen Nigel's spirit and we knew directly we arrived at
Sherwood Park that we would enjoy our stay...even though we
used our torch for nearly 2 hours!
Nigel, Marvin, Andy and all the staff did an
excellent job during our stay, and I would not hesitate to
recommend the Sherwood Park to anyone. The place has a very
friendly and calming air about it, and the service is
excellent, and after diving with people from the Hilton for
the first week, I can safely say that we got the better
accomodation!
Fred Abbink arrived on the second week, and
it is clear that his philosophy has infused the staff at the
Sherwood Park. His friendly approach to providing excellent
Customer Service is certainly ingrained in the whole place.
Sue and I wish Fred , Nigel and all the staff a very happy
Christmas , and all best wishes for the future. Hope to see
you again !!
What can I say - another truly relaxing
holiday in lovely surroundings. Gary and I thoroughly
enjoyed our honeymoon. Nigel and his staff as ever were
attentive and helpful. Our fridge was stocked on arrival and
the bottle of wine was a lovely touch. Housekeeping was its
usual high standard and nothing was too much trouble. This
was our second stay here and we were not disappointed. Can't
imagine staying anywhere else. Have definitely got the
Tobago bug and am looking forward to returning a third time.
Keep up the good work guys and see you again soon!
After being in transit more than 16 hours
from Montreal to Barbardos to Trinidad to Tobago we arrived
at Crown Point Airport in Tobago much the worse for wear and
found dear Nigel, manager of Sherwood Park apartments
patiently awaiting our late flight from Trinidad on Tobago
Express air service . . .
. . . The next morning we awoke to a
gorgeous morning and we were delighted to find ourselves in
this beautiful oasis which is called Sherwood Park.
We made our home here for 24 days; we felt
at home with the people on the property and with the people
on the island. Unlike most people who stayed at Sherwood
Park, we did not rent a car. We hired taxis for tours (and
met more people) and we enjoyed a lovely run to the beach
which was provided by Sherwood Park at a nominal fee.
The property is beautifully built on a slope
with the apartments on the top level. Down a few steps is a
large pentagon shaped terrace with tables and chairs under
thatch covered shelters. Down a few more steps is a gorgeous
pool area with chairs and more thatched shelters.
Throughout the property is a beautiful garden which includes
a wide variety of palms and flowering bushes.
SERENITY REIGNS!
Our thanks to Nigel Pirtheesingh for his
most wonderful hospitality and to his staff Marvin, Andy,
Carola and Louisa for a lovely family atmosphere. This is
one of the best holidays we have ever had.
I echo all the positive comments that
have been made about these apartments. We were in "Mango"
Room 11 which is at the top right of the building and so
benefited from a constant wonderful breeze blowing through
it. The swimming pool was superb and the room facilities
good, with mosquito nets and fans making sleeping easy.
Nigel and his staff were lovely and the residential position
of the apartments are great for people who like to be able
to sleep at night!
Altogether highly recommended for couples or small families,
especially as apartments have interconnecting doors if
needed. Very near Buccoo and Pigeon Point, but not too
close!
These very nice, good sized and very
cozy apartments are situated in the center of the touristy
area. You are, by car, just 5 minutes away from many nice
beaches, from the main city, from the nice places to go out
at night and restaurants. It's a perfect spot to explore
different places in Tobago. A car is recommended though, and
driving there is very easy going. All the people working in
Sherwood are so nice. It is very nice to lime with them.
They are always willing to help. It is also perfect place to
just stay around your apartment and have a nice swim or read
a book. We really recommend it. See you next year Nigel,
Andy and all the others!
It was our first time here and we stayed
for 8 days. We will for sure return within the next 12
months. Theres a great garden with a lovely pool. Beaches,
windsurfing, sailing, hiking and golf are all within easy
access. We loved Nigel's and the staffs personal touch!
The Sherwood Park Apartments would
probably be best for group bookings (we had the whole
complex booked for a week). You can't beat Nigel and his
boys in running the shop. They were fantastic. You need a
hire car to explore the island (unless you go diving like us
and are picked up by bus every day).
Dear Fred,
Just a quick note to say 'thank you' for
a great stay in Tobago. Everything went very smoothly, from
our pick-up at the airport right through to our leaving.
Your staff at Sherwood Park were very helpful, efficient and
friendly, we couldn't have asked for more. We so enjoyed the
wonderful island and hopefully will return in the not too
distant future, we don't often go back to the same place
twice but Tobago is very special. I have a card and a
brochure which I will put up on the board at work, as I can
wholeheartedly recommend your apartments if anyone shows
interest.
Well bye for now, many thanks once
again,
Love from Keith and Giselle Churcher
A fantastic place to stay. Sheer
tranquility. Not for everyone but we loved the seclusion of
these apartments. They have everything you need and the
staff are very willing and helpful - nothing is too much
trouble. Car hire or bicycle hire would be helpful to get
around although the apartments use regular taxi drivers who
charge a set fee (Approx 5) to take you pretty much
anywhere you want to go. Apartments are spacious and cleaned
daily. A grocery service is available for a small fee
(enabling you to spend more time on the beach!) A wonderful
holiday and when I return I will be returning here
We loved our stay at Sherwood Park. The
apartments, pool and garden are lovely. Though not far from
beautiful beaches, it is away from the main tourist areas,
so we met local people, including the wonderful staff, and
guests of several nationalities. We shopped locally for
local food, and felt that, for MUCH less money than the
hotels, we had a wonderful holiday, had got closer to the
heart of the real Tobago, and had left only a light
footprint environmentally.
Have just returned from a dream holiday
on 'Paradise Island', and can't speak too highly of Sherwood
Park. The apartments, pool and gardens are lovely, peaceful
and far from mass-tourism, though we enjoyed meeting
friendly fellow-guests of several nationalities. We had been
a little worried about not staying on a beach, but from the
moment manager Nigel collected us at the airport, and told
us that he ferried to and from beaches every day, we were
reassured. No problem! In fact the excellent staff, friendly
and efficient, were a huge bonus. As we bought local food at
local markets, and used local transport, we felt we blended
into the environment. We also spent two wonderful days with
tour guide Peter Cox, of Tobago Nature Tours, learning about
the brilliant birds and plants of Tobago, and I'd like to
send a separate review of these trips. All in all, the most
fantastic holiday.
